All Creatures Great and Small

I find dragonflies rather horrifying to look at...


... yet rather fascinating at the same time.

Thank goodness for a good zoom on my camera which allowed me some distance between this huge dragon fly that I found perched on a rock along the river in "our woods".

    You got an excellent shot! We have a robin's nest in our hanging basket out front. The babies just hatched. I really want to get a picture but it requires too much maneuvering to get it so I'll leave Momma bird to her babies. Such an amazing thing to watch though!

    very beautiful. regardless, dragonflies scare the bejesus out of me. ick.

    fluttering buzzing clicking sound wings - what ARE they doing???

    We don't have a lot of dragonflies around so I confess I'm usually just fascinated by them! Terrific capture!
